Come explore highlights of French cooking and food culture! The class will begin with Julia Child's memoir My Life in France and her legendary cookbook Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Through the movie Julie & Julia, you will explore Julie Powell's experiences (complete with French cooking terms and vocabulary!) as she cooked all of Julia's "Mastering" recipes in one year, and discuss French cooking both then and now. The final class meeting offers a private cooking session at Central Market, where you will taste some of Julia's best dishes in a cooking class designed especially for you. The last class meeting on 2/15 will be held in the Central Market Cooking School at the store on Lover's Lane and Central.
