FRANCOPHONIE 2012 : Faites participer vos élèves au concours des dix mots
Pour la 6e année, le ministère français de l’Éducation nationale lance le « Concours des dix mots » à l’occasion du mois de la francophonie en Mars 2012
Ouvert aux classes de collège et de lycée du monde entier, il invite les élèves à réaliser collectivement un travail autour du thème de l’expression personnelle à partir des dix mots suivants puisés dans l’oeuvre de Jean-Jacques Rousseau dont nous célèbrerons en 2012 le tricentenaire de la naissance :
âme, autrement, caractère, chez, confier, histoire, naturel, penchant, songe, transports
Il s’agit de concevoir à partir des dix mots une production littéraire qui implique une dimension artistique fondée sur un réel travail linguistique. Toutes les démarches pluridisciplinaires seront les bienvenues.
Chaque classe participante aura la possibilité de présenter l’évolution de son travail sur un blog créé par curiosphere.tv, la webtv éducative de France télévisions.

TEACHER TRAINING | STAGES PÉDAGOGIQUES DE COURTE DURÉE - SPCD
A great opportunity for American teachers of French !
Each year, the Cultural Services Department of the French Embassy in the U.S. offers grants to qualified primary and secondary school teachers of French looking to enhance their knowledge of French culture and improve their language and teaching skills. Each grant includes tuition and training fees for two weeks, a round train ticket from Paris to the city of destination. Program participants also receive an allowance to help with a portion of their accomodation and food expenses. Rountrip air fare is not included.
The program includes:
Tuition and training fees for 2 weeks A round-trip train ticket from Paris to the destination city
Program participants receive grants covering a portion of their accommodation and food expenses.
Roundtrip airfare is NOT included.
ELIGIBILITY Applicants must be:
Full-time teachers in accredited U.S. schools assigned to teach the French language and/or French culture in grades K-12 U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. (French citizens are not allowed to apply) highly proficient in French must not have received a grant from the French government within the last 3 years.

Teaching Assistant Program in France
The Teaching Assistant Program in France is a joint initiative of the French Ministry of Education, the Centre international d’études pédagogiques (CIEP) and the Cultural Services Department of the French Embassy in Washington, D.C. Its goal is to strengthen English-language instruction in the French educational system through the establishment of a native speaker presence. The program also provides future teachers of French in the United States with excellent teaching experience and first-hand knowledge of French language and culture.

Revue du CIEP
La Revue internationale d'éducation, edited by the International Center of Pedagogical Studies (CIEP), is a review that specializes in worldwide education. The CIEP publishes three French-language editions each year, for professionals in the fields of education, universities, and research. It aims to enrich the reflection on education by the analysis of choices made in different countries. Its scientific status allows foreign researchers to include the articles it publishes in the list of their research works.

Teaching French to kids

TV5 Monde launchs new Iphone app to learn French
TV5Monde launchs an educational iPhone application as part of its global media multiplatform strategy.
The world's only international Francophone general-interest channel has been setting its sights stateside with a series of new initiatives. TV5Monde launched a VOD portal on New Orleans cable system Cox last week and plans to air a new program focusing on Francophone events within the U.S. within the coming months.
TV5Monde's first iPhone application "7 Jours sur la Planete" (7 days on the planet) is initially aimed at English language speakers, but the network will soon be adding German, Spanish and Japanese to its menu languages.
The iPhone app enables users to learn about 30 words directly related to the international week's news and is updated every Saturday.
A basic version of TV5Monde's new iPhone app will be available free of charge, and the full version for 3.99 euros ($5.49) and just 2.39 euros ($3.29) during a promotional launch through March 31.
